Abstract

The Building Information Modeling (abbreviated as BIM) plays an important role in both design and construction industries. The established BIM-based framework is proposed to solve the problem of particular claim that is caused by the lack of communication among the different design teams for the different parts of the entire project before the construction stage. A mixed research methods approach is adopted in this research, the case study is used to demonstrate the necessary of dealing with particular claims in design stage and the amount of delays and overruns of cost can be reduced by the proposed framework. As a result, the data from the case shows that using the framework can reduce more than 29% cost of the particular claims.
